What is the history of the Green Business Institute?

GBI is a brainchild of Russ Hellem and James Mallory, created to provide the highest level of training for green business entrepreneurs. The idea was born from practicality, after observing a definitive lack of resources for individuals wishing to start a green business. Industry specific examples could be found, but no one was actively providing a place that hosted training for a wide variety of green businesses.

Russ brought to the table a wide variety of green business experience, with succesfull operations in energy auditing, home performance contracting, geothermal, HVAC and energy efficient custom home building. James' experience focused on businesses in the mold remediation, indoor air quality testing, small business marketing and vocation school industries.

Combining these two backgrounds, the Green Business Institute was born. The organization is still in its infancy, and we'll continue to add many more schools and courses. However, the original vision will never change, provide the premier training courses for green business entrepreneurs.
