What is a typical background for students in the Energy Audit Training course in Nashville?
The majority of our students come with experience in either the construction industry or the home inspection field. Though this forms the majority, a number of our energy audit training students come with no prior related experience. This can work, as long as the student realizes the additional work required to bring themselves up to speed.
What is BPI?
BPI stands for the Building Performance Institute. BPI is the recognized leader in developing and supporting high quality energy audit training courses. BPI does not provide energy audit training courses themselves, instead they partner with local instuctors and facilities in Nashville and many other cities across the country.
Energy Auditor, Weatherization, Home Performance Retrofitting, Energy Efficiency Upgrades - what's the difference?
The terminology in this industry is understandably confusing. At this time, a consensus has not yet formed on the best term to describe this profession in the Nashville area. On the inspection side, the terms are clearer. In Nashville, most professionals in the industry agree on the title Energy Auditor. The titles on the contracting portion of the sector are more varied. Weatherization, for example, tends to cover the portion of the industry dealing with low-income housing upgrades. Home Performance Retrofitting, however, is typically used by the professionals within the industry, but is nearly unknown by customers.
Does this course cover the business aspects of energy auditing and weatherization in Nashville?
All the energy audit training in the world won't make the phone ring. Yet it is amazing how easy it is to forget this in the excitement of starting a new career. Recognizing this, we've developed a separate course specifically covering the decisions you'll need to make in starting and running a successful energy audit business in Nashville.
